How to Find a Person in Jail
When you suspect your friend or family member has been arrested, but haven’t gotten “the call” to be sure, there are a number of resources available to help you locate your loved one.
Use the Internet
Locating a person in jail is not as difficult as you would imagine; especially with the help of the Internet. In fact, a quick search on your local county jail’s website (or the county where you suspect your loved one is incarcerated) can yield the results you seek.
Have Information about your Loved One
Generally, all that’s required to find a person that is in jail is their full name and birth date. If you don’t know your friend’s birthday, that’s okay; sometimes just a name is enough to find a person in county jail.
Check with Victim Information and Notification Everyday
Things can get complicated if you’re not sure where you’re loved one was arrested. Most often, the Victim Information and Notification Everyday’s Web site (www.vinelink.com) can be used in such circumstances.
